Role Description:
The SMT Process Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and improving Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing processes to achieve high productivity, quality, and efficiency. The role involves process optimization, defect reduction, machine setup, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SMT manufacturing processes.
- Prepare and update process documents, SOPs, Work Instructions (WI), and process flow charts.
- Set up and validate new SMT products for production.
- Optimize stencil design, solder paste printing and reflow profiles.
- Analyze and reduce SMT defects such as tombstoning, bridging, solder balls, insufficient solder, missing components, polarity errors, and misalignment.
- Monitor machine performance and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Troubleshoot process and machine-related issues to minimize downtime.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly process reports and yield analysis.
Requirements:
- Programming Knowledge and Experience with Panasonic, FUJI mounter and DEK printer.
- Programming knowledge and Experience in AOI SPI with TRI Machine.
- Strong knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Solder Paste Printer
- Pick & Place Machines (Panasonic, Fuji)
- SPI (TRI)
- AOI (TRI)
- Reflow Oven
- Knowledge of PCB assembly and electronic components.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Electronics, or a related field
- Experience in the electronic surveillance or related industry is a plus
